OLG Offers Quarterly Game Payments To Niagara Falls

This week, the Ontario Lottery and gaming company began sending quarterly game payments to communities hosting casinos. One of the people who received the allocation in the first quarter of 2023-2024 was Niagara Falls. 바카라사이트 The city received about C$6.3 million from the host community of Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.

OLG’s revenue is shared with the community through municipal contribution agreements. The contract was signed with the municipality decades ago and aims to award the host community as the home of OLG’s casino. All communities may receive different assignments calculated by predetermined formulas that apply to all game facilities.

The city of Niagara Falls recently received payments from OLG worth C$6,386,158 for hosting Fallsview Casino Resorts and Casino Niagara in the first quarter of fiscal 2023-2024. Since the opening of the latter property in 1996, casino revenue has become a huge economic factor that brings in revenue of C$201,290,153, supporting numerous community projects.

Not long ago, Ontario’s finance minister Peter Betlenfalby said that by hosting casinos, communities can support critical community programs and services and expand infrastructure thanks to gambling revenues. According to him, such financial allocations and contributions benefit important programs and services to ensure a better Ontario in the future.

In addition to Niagara Falls, Peterborough also took quarterly game allocations. For the first quarter of the current fiscal year, City received a donation of C$789,929 to host Shorelines Casino Peterborough from April 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023. Since the casino was launched in October 2018, it has delivered a total of C$10,194,294 to the city’s coffers.

Casino service providers have reportedly injected more than CA$2 billion in private sector capital across the state over the past eight years. Since 2017, these investments have created seven new casinos, one planned development, as well as additional gambling expansion and non-gaming facilities that contribute to the local economy.

In June, OLG presented a cheque worth CA$1.45 million to the city of Sault St. Marie for hosting another gaming facility, the Gateway Casino Sault St. Marie. This is the allocation of gaming revenue from slot and live table games for the entire fiscal year 2022-23. Since the casino’s opening, the city has collected nearly CA$34 million as the host.

Greater Sudbury also received a check on its gaming revenue share for 2022-2023. The city received C$1.93 million for hosting Gateway Casino Sudbury throughout the fiscal year. Tom Davis Square, Mayor of Greater Sudbury, thanked OLG for its continued support for the community at a special ceremony.
