“I deeply apologize to everyone and my fans who have been hurt by my imprudent judgment over the past year,” Im said on his social media.

He said, “Thanks to the long-standing love you have shown me, I have lived under the name Im Chang-jung for over 30 years. He said that in this state he had not recognized how different and risky his choices and decisions had become compared to before.

“I’m deeply regretful and sorry for the past, where I used the precious name and face you gave me too easily and failed to remain dedicated to my main job as an artist, leaving many of you disappointed,” he said.

However, the prosecution’s investigation revealed that Im did not receive any investment profits or compensation for attracting investments. Last month, the prosecution cleared Im of all charges, closing his case.
