Tottenham 5 games without a win…Son Heung-min “I need to feel the responsibility of the attacking line” bitter comments

One draw and four defeats in the last five games.

Their run to the top of the table a month ago has come to a screeching halt. Tottenham’s captain, Son Heung-min, is also bitter.

“It’s unacceptable,” Son said after Tottenham’s 1-2 home loss to West Ham in the 15th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Aug. 8 (KST).

Spurs took an early lead through defender Christian Romero’s header in the 11th minute, only to concede two late goals through defensive errors, much to the disappointment of the home fans.

Unbeaten in their last five games, including three straight at home, Spurs are fifth in the table (27 points).

After an unbeaten start to the season with eight wins and two draws in their opening 10 games, the run of defeats has left their chances of securing a top-four finish and a Champions League spot in doubt.

They haven’t tasted victory since late October against Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Amazon Prime after the game, Son Heung-min said, “Good or bad is meaningless.

We lost.

It’s unacceptable.

We could have finished the game, but we didn’t.

As a player, you have to take responsibility.”

Spurs came out firing after Romero’s opener, who returned from a one-match ban.

But they failed to capitalize on several chances.

The cost was high.

Spurs conceded an equalizer to West Ham’s Jarrod Boen seven minutes into the second half, and then took advantage of a back-pass error by Destiny Udogie in the 29th minute.

The lack of detail, including a threatening 25th-minute header from substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, will have been on the minds of Spurs players.

Spurs have now lost or drawn their last five games after taking a 1-0 lead, with Vivisey noting that Spurs have the most points this season after taking a lead and then losing it with 16. 카지노

It’s also the first time in more than 15 years that Spurs have lost three consecutive home games since September 2008.

A 3-3 draw away to Manchester City in the 14th round heralded a rebound after three straight defeats, but it fell short of fans’ expectations.

“1-0 is not enough,” said Son Heung-min.

We need to work harder to win.

When you take an early lead, you have to play with more energy, but we didn’t do that.

The fans don’t deserve this,” he emphasized.

Tottenham manager Anzhi Postecoglou echoed the same sentiment: “When you dominate a game, you have to create something meaningful.

We gave ourselves a game we should have won comfortably,” he said. “

We still have a long way to go and a day like today shows that.

We need to be better in our movement and decisions in the penalty box, and we need to be more confident in our finishing.”

Tottenham travel to Newcastle on Saturday for their Round of 16 clash.
