Lance Gauto at the Newport World Resort

Lance Gautreaux is the new casino chief executive of Newport World Resorts, a gaming and leisure complex in the Philippines. According to a social media post on the property’s official LinkedIn account, the appointment took effect Monday (Sept. 11).

Mr. Gautreaux has been described as an industry veteran with “more than 25 years” of practical experience in the gaming industry.

Mr. Gautreux previously worked at casino properties run by Las Vegas Sands, a U.S.-based company, including the Venetian resort of Las Vegas and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the post said.

Casino and leisure complex Newport World Resort, located in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, is owned and operated by Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., a subsidiary of the local conglomerate Alliance Global Group.

Alliance Global reported last month that its overall real estate net profit fell about 7.6% to about 7.3 billion PHP ($128.5 million) in the second quarter compared to the previous three months.

In the April-June period of 2023, gross gaming revenue (GGR) fell about 2.2% to about 8.7 billion PHP compared to the first quarter of this year. In the second quarter, GGR was up about 6.1% year-over-year.
