Westrock County in Favor of Camrose Casino Relocation

Westrock County, Alberta, also weighed in on the proposed relocation of Capital City Casino’s Camrose Resort Casino. 온라인카지노 The community has expressed support for the move and is urging the Alberta Games, Liquor and Cannabis Commission to change its mind and allow the company to move its gaming activities to South Edmonton.

AGLC previously said no to a request for a transfer to Edmonton. However, the owner explains that even if the property is relocated, it will still operate in rural pools for charity. Provinces receive less funding from gambling because organizations are linked to local casinos and rural organizations are allocated to casinos outside the two major cities.

At a recent meeting, Westrock County lawmakers voted 7-0 to send a letter to AGLC just before the appeal of the previous refusal decision on September 10, 2021. Lawmakers will deliver letters to Treasurer Travis Towes, local councillors Glenn Van Dicken and Shane Getson, and municipalities within West Rock Town and Alberta rural municipality Pembina Zone.

Members think that the physical location of casinos is a problem because they want to create a fair local game model. In the presentation, County Intergovernmental Adviser Jared Shayek recalled that previous reports from the RMA and AGLC found significant advantages for urban charities in terms of funding waiting times and yields.

CAO Tony Kulbisky noted that there are many organizations in the county that rely on casinos to function and exist. He noted that if there is inequality and long waiting times, it is mandatory for Congress to come up with a position to inform local groups that it is important and that Parliament is acknowledging their concerns.

Meanwhile, Congressman Jared Stison said the letter was for Congress to do because gambling revenue was essential to the community hall and various organizations in the region. According to the RMA, St. Albert and Camrose have the lowest revenue per event, while also having the longest waiting time for a nonprofit to go on a casino date.

In February 2023, Woodland County also expressed support for the relocation. Community Services Coordinator Heather Anderson noted that AGLC’s decision will have a significant impact as many of the county’s nonprofit organizations rely heavily on casino revenue for funding. She also cited long waiting times as one of the reasons for supporting it.

In addition, late last month, New Star Capital hosted a two-day open house to discuss the topic of the relocation. During the event, the company claimed that four of the five points of AGLC’s rejection went against the regulator’s information. The operator will gain more support for the relocation and hopes to send a letter to the regulator.
