SON, the ‘North London Derby first’, asserts that the goal is not his own, but rather the team’s goal.
Son Heung-min scored a brace to lead Tottenham to a 2-2 draw away to Arsenal in the sixth round of the 2023-2024 Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in London, England, on Thursday (Sept. 24).
The draw extended Tottenham’s unbeaten run to six games (four wins, two draws) to open the season.
After opening the season with a hat-trick against Burnley in Round 4, Son was silent in Round 5 against Sheffield Wednesday, but proved himself worthy of the Tottenham captaincy by scoring two goals in the ‘North London Derby’ against Arsenal.
The multi-goal performance took Son’s tally to 199 goals in Europe, just one shy of the 200 mark.
In addition, Son has now scored seven goals (six in the league and one in the cup) in 19 career games against Arsenal (17 in the league and two in the cup), cementing his status as an Arsenal killer.
