An integrated marathon to raise awareness of disability will be held this weekend in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
“The 2023 Super Blue Marathon will be held at Peace Plaza, Peace Park, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on May 17 from 8 a.m.,” Special Olympics Korea announced on Thursday.
The Super Blue Marathon, co-organized by Special Olympics Korea and Lotte, has the slogan “We Shine Together”.
A total of 8,000 runners, including more than 1,500 participants with disabilities, will compete in four categories: half, 10 km, 5 km, and Super Blue 5 km (Para course).
Wearing blue shoelaces, participants will chant the “Super Blue Five Promises” at the start line, 바카라사이트 leading the way to change the misconceptions and representations of people with disabilities.
At the pre-event ‘Sean Shine Running Class’, singer Sean and developmental disability author Kang Sun-ah taught 50 participants how to run systematically over six sessions.
Ms. Kang personally designed the medals, stage, posters, and souvenirs for the marathon.
After the marathon, the second part of the event featured an award ceremony, a congratulatory performance by singer Koyotae, and a nanta performance by Aryananta, a performance team for the disabled.
There were also experience booths and giveaways such as pierrot balloons, tattoo stickers, and face painting. Lotte World’s mascots Lottie and Rory will also attend the event.
All participants in the marathon will receive a Kolon T-shirt, eco-bag, record certificate, finisher’s medal, and sports tape.
“We will strive to make the Super Blue Marathon the starting point for creating an integrated society where people with disabilities are not discriminated against and spreading the influence of goodness,” said Lee Yong-hoon, President of Special Olympics Korea. 슬롯
