Women’s volleyball loses 2-3 to Germany for third straight Olympic qualifier

The South Korean women’s volleyball team has lost three straight matches in the Paris 2024 Olympic

Head coach Cesar Hernandez’s team (ranked 36th in the world) lost to Germany (ranked 12th) in straight

sets, 2-3 (13-25, 21-25, 25-23 7-15), in the third match of Group C of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification

Tournament in Łódź, Poland on Monday (July 19).

It was the third consecutive loss for South Korea, which also lost to Italy (5th), Poland (7th) and Germany.

Germany had won three straight.

South Korea was out-blocked 7-15 as a team, but held a 7-5 advantage in serves. They rallied from a 0-2

South Korea is competing in Group C of the qualifiers alongside Italy, Poland, Germany, USA (2nd),

Thailand (14th), Colombia (20th), and Slovenia (27th). They need to finish in the top two to qualify for the Olympic Games.

South Korea will take on the United States on Tuesday in the fourth match of the Group C preliminary
