LG signs Im Chan-gyu to a 4-year, 5 billion free agent contract…and Oh Ji-hwan too

LG signed pitcher Im Chan-kyu (31) to a four-year, $5 billion free agent contract.

The team also finalized a deal with Korean Series Most Valuable Player Oh Ji-hwan (33).
“We signed free agent (FA) Im Chan-kyu for a total of 4 years and 5 billion won, including a down payment of 600 million won, a total of 2 billion won in guaranteed salary, and 2.4 billion won in incentives,” Elgee announced on the 21st.
Im made his professional debut after being selected by the Elgee with the second pick of the first round in the 2011 rookie draft.

Until this year, he wore an Elgee uniform for 11 seasons.

In 298 career games, he has a 65-72 record, eight saves, five shutouts and a 4.62 goals-against average.

In 2023, he went 14-3 with a 3.42 ERA and helped the team win the combined title.
Lim said, “I wanted to continue to be an ELG player, and I am grateful to the club for giving me a good contract.

I think I was able to achieve the best results this season thanks to the fans who always support me passionately.

We will continue to do well next year and the year after next so that our fans can always smile.”
The team also finalized a free agent deal with Oh Ji-hwan, who agreed to a six-year extension before the season. 온라인카지노

Oh will receive a contract worth 5 billion won in signing bonus, 5 billion won in salary, and 2.4 billion won in incentives for six years starting next year.
Oh, who is eligible for free agency at the end of this season, had agreed to a six-year, $12.4 billion multi-year contract with Elgie before the season began.

He filed for free agency after the season in light of the second round draft in November, allowing Elgie to remove Oh from the 35-man roster.
The Hanwha Eagles also announced that they signed pitcher Jang Min-jae, 33, to a 2+1 year contract for a total of 800 million won.

Jang is guaranteed 400 million won for two years with an option for another 100 million won.

At the end of the two-year contract, he will receive an annual salary of 200 million won and an option of 100 million won depending on his performance.
In this year’s free agency market, which opened in November, eight players, including Jeon Jun-woo (Lotte), Ahn Chi-hong (Hanwha), Ko Jong-wook (Kia), Kim Jae-yoon (Samsung), Yang Suk-hwan (Doosan), Lim Chan-kyu, Oh Ji-hwan, and Jang Min-jae, signed contracts.
