Pohang to be led by ‘One Clubman’ Park Tae-ha after Kim Ki-dong’s departure
‘One Club Man’ Park Tae-ha is the new head coach of Pohang.
The Pohang Steelers announced on Friday that they have appointed Park Tae-ha (55) as their 13th head coach. The contract is for two years.
Park is a “one-club man” who made his debut in Pohang in 1991 and played for the club until 2001.
Excluding his military service, Park spent nine seasons with Pohang, scoring 46 goals and providing 37 assists in 261 K League games.
During Park’s playing career, Pohang won the K League and the Korean Football Association (FA) Cup, as well as two Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League titles.
Park began his coaching career with Pohang in 2005.
He took over as coach in 2007 and helped then-head coach Sergio Farias lead the team to the K League title.

From 2008 to 2011, he coached the South Korean men’s national team.
He led the team to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with former coach Heo Jung-moo.
He then took over as head coach of FC Seoul in 2012, leading the team to the K League title, and in 2015, he took charge of Yanbian Fuder in the Chinese second division, where he promoted the team to the Super League before stepping down in 2018. 카지노사이트

In a statement to the club, Park said, “I am honored and excited to be the head coach of a team that means so much to me personally that I have never forgotten Pohang since I first joined the club.
I will do my best to show Pohang soccer.”
Pohang finished second in the K League 1 and won the FA Cup in the 2023 season.
After the season, Kim Ki-dong left for FC Seoul.
