South Korea’s women’s handball team lost to Slovenia in the first game of the World Championship Final, ending their hopes of reaching the quarterfinals.
South Korea lost 27-31 to Slovenia in the first game of the second round of the 26th World Women’s Handball Championship Final on Sunday (July 7) in Trondheim, Norway.
The top three teams from each of the eight pools at the World Championships advanced to the final round, and Korea, drawn in Pool C with Norway,
Austria and Greenland, narrowly missed out with a win over Greenland. 카지노
The team came within two goals of Slovenia in the first half, thanks to back-to-back goals from Ryu Eun-hee (Gyori, Hungary), but went into halftime with a 14-19 lead.

In the second half, the team came back from a 10-goal deficit to cut the deficit to four goals,
but they were unable to turn the game around due to a lack of depth as their attempts to score were repeatedly blocked.
Ryu Eun-hee scored 12 goals in the game,
followed by Woo Bitna (Seoul Metropolitan Government) and Shin Eun-joo (Incheon City Hall) with five goals each.
The loss leaves the team in fifth place out of six nations in Group 2,
meaning that even if they win their second and third games, they will not advance to the quarterfinals.
With only the top two teams from the same group advancing to the quarterfinals,
the fact that France and Norway had already won three games in the final round
eliminated their chances of reaching the quarterfinals regardless of how the rest of the teams performed.
South Korea will play France in the second leg of the final on Sept. 9 (2 a.m.) and Angola in the third leg on Sept. 10 (11:30 p.m.).
South Korea has not reached the quarterfinals since finishing sixth at the 2009 tournament in China.
