Fabrizio Romano, a reporter familiar with the European football transfer market, said on the 29th (Korea Standard Time), “Granada agreed to the terms of recruiting Felistri from Manchester United on loan.”
A Uruguayan, Felistri, born in 2001, is a promising player for Manchester United. After joining Manchester United in 2020, he left on loan for two consecutive seasons and began to make his name in Manchester United’s squad last season. Coach Erik ten Hag’s eyes were on him, and he continued to be included in the list.
He has played as a substitute from time to time, but has not shown any remarkable performance. For the past two years from last season to this season, Felistri has only two assists. He is playing as a right winger, but he still has no debut goal.
Despite the poor performance of Manchester United’s main strikers, the team failed to seize the opportunity. Antony, a rival of the same position, has shown poor performance as he scored an offensive point for the first time in 23 games this season. The same applied to Felistri, however. He lacked participation in defense and lacked physical strength, which meant he could hardly compete with defenders.
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League group stage against Bayern Munich, he started as a surprise, but was below expectations. He then played as a substitute in the fifth away game of Galatasaray, and blew away a perfect scoring opportunity.
In response, Manchester United also seems to be pushing for a loan transfer of Felistri again. They still need more big league experience and more growth needs to be made. It was expected that he would leave the team on loan this winter transfer market.
Spain’s Granada has reportedly succeeded in signing Pelistri on loan. However, Ten Haq’s decision remains. Romano continued, “The loan transfer depends on whether Ten Haq is finally approved or not. The paperwork between the parties is already ready.”
