All-Star Friday events have been canceled as rainy weather pours across the country.
“The Little League Baseball All-Star Game, Korea Women’s Baseball Federation Home Run Race, and One Point Lesson have been canceled due to rain,” the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said on Thursday.
The ‘Feast of Stars’ All-Star Game will be held at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 14th and 15th.
On the 14th, which will be held as All-Star Friday, a home run race to determine the KBO League’s best pitcher and the Future All-Star Game will be held, and the Little League All-Star Game and Women’s Baseball Home Run Race were planned to be held as preliminary events.
However, a large amount of rain was pouring down in the Busan area on that day, making it impossible to organize the events.
In addition to the Little Baseball All-Star Game and the Women’s Baseball Home Run Race, the One Point Lesson, which will be held at the Perfect Pitching Zone and the Home Run King Batting Zone in front of Sajik Stadium from 4 p.m., was also canceled.
Only the Home Run Race and the Futures All-Star Game remain on the schedule for Thursday.
The Futures All-Star Game will be a “play ball” at 6pm and the Home Run Race will be held after the game.
The Home Run Race will feature Park Dong-won and Austin Dean (LG Twins), Park Byung-ho (KT Wiz), Han Dong-hee (Lotte Giants), Noh Si-hwan, and Chae Eun-sung (Hanwha Eagles). The format will be a seven-out game per player, and the winner will receive a trophy, 5 million won, and LG Standby Me GO.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration’s forecast, it is expected to stop raining in Busan after 5pm. However, due to the poor condition of the rain-soaked ground, maintenance work is expected to take quite a bit of time.
The KBO said, “We will decide whether the Future All-Star Game and Home Run Race will be held on time or postponed after observing the weather situation.”
If the Futures All-Star Game is canceled, it will be held at 12 noon on the 15th. The Home Run Race will be held immediately after the Futures All-Star Game.
The KBO All-Star Game between the Dream All-Stars and the Sharing All-Stars will be played at 고스톱 6 p.m. on the 15th.
