Kim Min-jae makes mistake that leads to goal Munich beats Monaco 4-2

Played 63 minutes in the final friendly of the preseason

German professional soccer Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae made a mistake that led to a goal in the final friendly of the preseason.

The Bavarians won 4-2 against AS Monaco (France) at Sporthofspark in Unterhaching, Germany, on Aug. 8.

Kim Min-jae started three consecutive matches, beginning with a preseason match against Kawasaki Frontale (Japan, 1-0) on March 29, followed by a 4-3 win over Liverpool, and then the Monaco match.

Kim, who appeared to be somewhat out of shape after his basic military training, made a costly mistake in the 29th minute that led to the first goal.

A pass in the Munich area was intercepted by Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin, whose shot was saved by the goalkeeper, but Japan international Takumi Minamino slotted home with his left foot in the ensuing play.

However, the Bavarians responded with a 31st-minute equalizer from Konrad Reimer and a 45th-minute goal from Jermain Defoe.

Serge Gnabry added a penalty kick in first-half stoppage time.

Kim Min-jae played until the 18th minute of the second half before being replaced by Frans Kratzig.

Monaco pulled a goal back in the 19th minute through Wissam Ben Yedder on a penalty kick, but Munich sealed the win with a 23rd-minute wedge from Leroy Sane.

With their preseason schedule complete, 고스톱 Munich will kick off the 2023-2024 season with a German Super Cup match against Leipzig at 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 13.
