Belgian professional soccer Hong Hyun-seok scores first league goal against Kluip Brugge

Belgian professional soccer player Hong Hyun-seok of Gent scored his first league goal.

Hong Hyun-seok scored the opening goal in the 25th minute of the home match against Clouff Brugge in the fifth round of the Belgian Professional Soccer Jupiler League for the 2023-2024 season at the Gelamco Arena in Ghent, Belgium, on Wednesday.

The left-footed strike, his first goal of the season, came about a week after he scored against Apoel Nicosia (Cyprus) in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference playoffs on Aug. 25.

It was Hong’s second goal of the season and first in the league.

After recording six goals and six assists in league play last season, Hong has one goal and two assists in league play this season.

Hong has been called up to the national team for friendlies against Wales and Saudi Arabia on Aug. 8 and 13 in England, and will also compete at the Asian Games in Hangzhou later this month.
