Cayuga Nation Opens Second Casino In New York

Land-based gaming options are expanding in New York as Cayuga Nation recently opened a new gambling facility west of Cayuga Lake, close to Seneca Falls. The new location was branded Lakeside Entertainment and opened last week, replacing the former gas station on the corner of Route 89 and Garden Stee Extension.

It should be noted that the new gaming facility is owned and operated by Cayuga Nation under the leadership of Congressman Clint Halftown. The gas station was run by a rival faction in the Cayuga community until 2020 when Mr Halftown and Congress seized the building and demolished the venue and several other buildings to make way for the game venue. 온라인카지노

In addition to the new lakeside entertainment property near Seneca Falls, the nation owns and operates another gaming facility on route 90 in the town of Union Springs in Cayuga County. In an agreement with the state, the two Lakeside Entertainment properties are branded as Class II casinos, meaning they can only offer video games and bingo options.

In addition to running the game, Cayuga Nation is also actively involved in the legal marijuana sector. Nation has a growing property close to the cannabis brands Seneca Falls and Arrowhead Hemp. Tribal products can be found both in the game property in Union Spring and in the Cayuga Corner Store, close to the new casino.

In a press release last week, Mr Halftown said that gambling could enable the Nation to provide important resources to the community and the citizens of the Cayuga country. He also said the tribe is excited about adding another gaming facility to the existing Union Springs site and is now looking forward to welcoming backers at the new venue.

In 2020, Nation saw plans to expand its existing Lakeside Entertainment casino, but that plan was rejected. In August 2020, the U.S. Department of the interior announced that Nation’s application for a duty-free trust had been rejected. The state’s decision was influenced by Nation’s demolition of several buildings in the area in February 2020.

Meanwhile, the New York State Legislature is also working on expanding tribal or commercial casino properties. Earlier this year, the administration quickly processed the issuance of three commercial licenses to downstate locations. Then, in October 2022, a board of directors was elected to determine the organizers and seats for up to three casinos.

According to the New York State Gaming Commission, it appointed New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce Chairman and CEO Cunia Abro, former New York City Housing Commissioners Vicky Bean and Stuart Labinowitz to its board of directors. The main responsibility of this committee is to determine the venue and location of up to three potential Downstate casinos after the competition application process is completed.
