Ontario Authorizes Additional Internet Gaming Operators

Ontario’s private online market for gambling and sports betting continues to add more operators to the mix. 온라인카지노사이트 Most recently, the state’s regulator, Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission, issued several more licenses to third-party brands. Ligtip Limited, Ellips Entertainment Limited, and Delta Gaming Inc. were the last three to be approved.

The province launched the private online market on April 4, 2022, and its goal was to end the unregulated grey market. Previously, regulators set the end of October as the end of a transition period for unlicensed operators, which led to many exiting the gray sector and transitioning to legal ones.

With the issuance of the latest licenses, Ligtip Limited, Ellips Entertainment Limited, and Delta Gaming Inc. are now eligible to participate in the market and offer iCasino games and online sports betting. Ligtip will make its market debut through the TonyBet platform, Ellips will go online through the High Flyer Casino brand, and finally Delta will join by launching Delta Bingo and Gaming services.

In early October, AGCO announced an announcement aimed at ensuring that operators understand and comply with all applicable regulatory conditions, including new standards for transitional periods that will take effect Oct. 31. Registered operators who have not yet made their debut in the field must stop unregulated activities after that deadline.

At the time, regulators noted that when the new standards come into effect, applicants who do not comply risk being denied a license application. This is why the Commission has provided reasonable notice periods to support further transitions to the legal sector, including recognising potential offline periods for customers as a result of the suspension of registration.

These three licenses, carried out by AGCO in early December this year, are driven by three others announced in November 2022. The three brands are also called SideoSlots, NetBet, and Coolbear or CoolBet. As the transition period draws to a close on Halloween, more grey market operators are expected to join the market in the coming months.

On Thursday, December 1, 2022, the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission issued a statement ordering all registered casinos, lottery tickets and gaming operators to stop offering and accepting bets on UFC events. The decision comes after regulators heard news from UFC insiders about recent events related to potential bets and some reports about questionable betting patterns.

The regulator has convinced sports fans that it will continue to work with game operators, Ontario Lottery and gaming companies, iGaming Ontario and the UFC to ensure bets on UFC events are in line with AGCO Standards. The commission says that once necessary remedial action is taken, operators in the region will renew UFC bets.
