South Korea’s baseball team defeated hosts Australia in a thrilling extra-inning affair, with Noh Si-hwan hitting the game-winning hit.
The team, led by head coach Ryu Jung-il, defeated Australia 3-2 in 10 innings in the first game of the 2023 Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC) qualifier at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Saturday.
The Koreans started the game on the wrong foot as starter Moon Dong-ju (19-Hanwha Eagles) struggled with his command.
In the top of the first inning, leadoff hitter Liam Spence led off with a walk and advanced to third on a wild pitch by Moon.
After Rickson Wingrove walked to load the bases with one out, Moon gave up a single to No. 5 hitter Clayton Camberlake to score the first run of the game.
In the bottom of the inning, Kim Hyung-jun singled with runners on first and second to tie the game at 1-1, but Australia added another run in the sixth. 바카라사이트
After giving up a solo home run to Australia’s leadoff hitter Alex Hall, Moon was relieved.

Moon went 5⅔ innings, allowing two runs on five hits (one home run) with four walks and five strikeouts, but his fastball only reached 153 kilometers per hour.
He struggled with his fastball, which was his strength, and his command.
The team failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities in the fourth and fifth innings.
However, the comeback began in the eighth inning.
Kim Do-young led off with a double, moved to third on a grounder by Kim Hyung-joon, and came home on a single by Kim Joo-won with runners on second and third to tie the game at 2-2. No further runs were scored as Kim was thrown out at the plate.
With the game still tied in the ninth inning, the teams headed into extra innings.
Starting the 10th inning with runners on first and second, Jung struck out the first batter and got the next batter to ground into a double play to end the inning.
