Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates and club teams have expressed their condolences following the death of his “newborn son,” 37-year-old Manchester United.
“A daughter was born, but a son passed away,” Ronaldo said on social media on Sept. 19 (ET) of twins with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, 28.
Many people, including Pele, responded to Ronaldo’s post to share their grief.
His club, Manchester United, wrote: “Your pain is our pain.
We send our love and encouragement to you and your family,” he wrote.
Teammate Marcus Rashford also sent his sympathies.

Other condolences came from Manchester City, Leeds United, and the English Premier League.
Ronaldo said of his son’s death, “This is the greatest pain any parent can feel.

In addition to his new daughter, Ronaldo has four other children.
He had his first son, Ronaldo Jr. through a surrogate in 2010, and twins Eva (daughter) and Mateo (son) through another surrogate in June 2017.
In November of that year, Rodriguez gave birth to Alana, and now a daughter.
