Doosan squad completed the first training camp
Professional baseball Doosan Bears will return to Korea via Incheon International Airport on the 19th after completing the first field training in Sydney, Australia.
From the 1st to the 18th of this month, Doosan worked hard at Blacktown Baseball Stadium in Sydney, Australia, focusing on physical strength and tactical training.
In Sydney, they regained their sense of real-life combat through two matches against Blue and White, and will move to Miyazaki, Japan on the 21st to play seven practice games, including six against the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team.
Doosan coach Lee Seung-yeop said, “The fact that we finished the first camp without a single injury is a great achievement in itself,” and added, “All the players prepared really hard throughout the winter. Thanks to this, we were all able to go to Miyazaki without any dropouts.”
He then promised, “Now, in the second camp focusing on actual practice, we will improve our sense of the game and show a good performance from the opening game.”
The first camp MVPs selected by coach Lee and other coaches are pitcher Park Shin-ji and fielder Jo Soo-haeng.
In addition, Henry Ramos, Kim In-tae, Choi Ji-gang, and Kim Taek-yeon were selected as distinguished players.
Park Shin-ji said, “I was selected as the MVP of the Australian camp for two consecutive years. In fact, last year (regular season) I was not able to produce good results. I want to produce different results this year.”
Jo Soo-haeng pledged, “I think it was given to me to do well rather than to mean that I did well. This year, I will receive the game MVP award and often show myself giving podium interviews in front of fans.” 일본야동
