“My goal is to be called up to the national team from commerce”
Oh In-pyo spent a year and a half of his career with Gimcheon Sangmu. While at Gimcheon Sangmu, his goal was to be called up to the national team.
Seoul Eland defeated Chungnam Asan 5-0 in the ninth round of the Hana Bank K League 2 2024 at Mokdong Sports Complex at 2 p.m. on Sunday. With the win, Seoul Eland broke a five-match winless streak in the league, while Asan remained winless in five consecutive league matches.
Seoul Eland has been in good form since the start of the season with two consecutive wins. However, the team has been in a winless streak lately. Coach Kim Do-gyun expressed concern that such a prolonged period would affect the morale of the players, but at the same time, he vowed to “win the game. At the pre-match press conference, he said, “I’m fine with it, but I think the players will feel psychologically burdened if the period is prolonged, so I’m worried that they won’t be able to do what they need to do tactically. But if we can work on that, if we can work on our offense, we won’t fall behind other teams. It’s just a matter of overcoming a little bit of difference. We have to come out of today’s game with a win.”
Seoul Eland had the support of their home fans behind them. They took the lead at the start of the first half. In the second minute of the first half, Chang Chang-joon received the ball in the box and cleverly outmaneuvered his opponent before firing a shot into the Asan net. After taking the lead, Seoul Eland stabilized their play and took control of the game. Asan tried to attack, but Seoul Eland’s solid defense prevented them from catching up. The momentum swung in their favor, and they scored three goals in the first half, with further goals from Ikova and Bruno Silva.
In the second half, the momentum remained in Seoul Eland’s favor. As in the first half, Seoul Eland took control through steady play and capitalized on opportunities by forcing their opponents to make mistakes or exploiting weaknesses 토토 through quick counterattacks. The team ran out 5-0 winners, with goals from Bruno Silva and Park Jung-in.
A victory that feels good. After the victory, Oh In-pyo said, “I’m so happy to win my last game before I enlist. I think all the players worked really hard. It’s a gift for me personally.”
In his last game before enlisting, Oh earned an assist. He would have scored a goal, but it was disallowed by the video assistant referee (VAR), which he said was “disappointing, but on the field, whether it was a goal or not, the team was winning by a big margin, so it was fine.”
Oinpyo will be leaving the team for about a year and a half from the 29th. He said goodbye to his teammates in a pleasant way. He said, “(Kim) O-kyu is going on a business trip, so I tease him in a playful way. He said, “Don’t get hurt, do your best, you’ll know when you get there. I’m just glad he said good things to me.”
Oinpyo is ready to take on new challenges. “My biggest goal is to finish my military service without getting injured. In terms of personal goals, I would like to be called up to the national team when I am in business.”
