Liverpool’s new manager already getting support…Klopp + Pandeyk praise

Feyenoord coach Arne Slott has already garnered the support of Liverpool supporters in his bid to succeed Jürgen Klopp, who is leaving the club after eight years.

“Arne Slott will replace Klopp as Liverpool manager at the end of the season,” European soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on Sunday (June 27), adding, “The compensation agreement between Feyenoord and Liverpool has been finalized. The details of Slott’s appointment have also been finalized,” adding the phrase ‘Here we go,’ which is used when a transfer is finalized.

“Liverpool will pay a compensation package of between €13 million and €15 million. This will make Slott the most expensive Dutch manager in history,” he said, adding, ‘The details will be finalized over the weekend with paperwork to be completed.’

Slott, a Dutchman, has been at the helm of his country’s league giants Feyenoord since 2021. In his first season in charge, Slott led Feyenoord to a third-place finish in the league, and last season he led them to the league championship. For his efforts, he was named Dutch Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2023, making him one of the hottest coaches in recent times.

Slott favors an aggressive and attractive style of soccer with intense pressing and quick transitions. He has been linked to Bayern Munich, one of the strongest teams in German soccer, and Liverpool, who have become one of the strongest teams in Europe under Klopp.

Slott was also linked with the Tottenham job last year. At the time, Spurs had parted ways with Antonio Conte and were on the hunt for a permanent manager after two acting managers. Several managers were shortlisted, and Slott was one of them.

Initially, it was thought that Slott would get the job as he had expressed interest in the Spurs job, but it turned out that he was only using Spurs to re-sign with Feyenoord.

“My next step is to go abroad. The best stage in the world is the Premier League. See you in London,” said Slott, who had expressed interest in the Tottenham job and signed a one-year extension with Feyenoord that will keep him in charge until the summer of 2026.

“Tottenham were aware that Slott had a £5 million buyout clause, but it doesn’t kick in until next summer’s transfer window,” Sky Sports reported, adding that “Tottenham felt Slott had used Spurs’ interest to get a better deal at Feyenoord,” suggesting that Slott was using Spurs to gain leverage in contract talks.

Slott, who has since led Feyenoord to second place in the league this season, has been linked with a move to Liverpool rather than Munich. He has been tipped to succeed Klopp at Liverpool.

After leading Liverpool since 2015, the world-renowned manager will leave the club at the end of the 2023-24 season. “Jürgen Klopp will take charge of 토토 Liverpool at the end of the 2023-2024 season, ending his eight-and-a-half years at the club,” the club announced on its official website in January.

Speaking to the club, Klopp said: “I understand that many people will be shocked when they hear this for the first time. But obviously, at least I can and should explain,” he said, adding: ”I love everything about this club, the city, the supporters. I love the team, I love the staff, I love everything. But I’m still convinced it’s a decision I have to make.”

“My energy has run out,” he explained as the reason for his departure, despite being contracted to Liverpool until 2026. “I already informed the club of my decision in November last year,” he said, adding that it was not a sudden decision.

As Slott and Liverpool grew closer, Klopp also weighed in on the speculation.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds’ 2023-2024 Premier League Round 35 away match against West Ham on June 26, Klopp said of Slott: “If he is my successor, what I like about him is that he really wants the job. He is eager. So let’s give him a chance. I’m looking forward to it.”

He said, “I really like the way the slot team plays. What I’ve heard 안전놀이터 about him, obviously I don’t know much about him, but what some people have told me is that he’s a really nice guy and I really like that. He’s a good coach and he’s what the club is looking for. If he is the solution or the person, I couldn’t be happier,” he said.

“I want to tell Slott that it’s the best job in the world, it’s the best club in the world, the best people,” Klopp added, highly recommending Liverpool.

Liverpool captain and fellow Dutchman Virgil van Dijk also backed Slott.

“I think Slott is probably one of the best Dutch managers right now. I think about his style of play and philosophy if he became Liverpool manager,” he said.
