Seongnam FC’s coach Choi Chul-woo’s face was heavy as the club fell to its fourth straight defeat.
Seongnam suffered a 0-2 defeat at home against Cheonan City in the 15th round of the Hana Bank K League 2 2024 at the Tancheon Stadium in Seongnam at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
This was Seongnam’s fourth consecutive defeat since the match against Suwon Samsung on May 5. They remain in 12th place with three wins, four draws and seven losses (13 points).
After the match, Choi Chul-woo said, “We lost, so I don’t have anything to say. But I’m grateful to the players who tried their best until the end, and I’m sorry,” he said calmly.
Seongnam’s defense has been shaky. They have conceded in all 15 matches this season except for a 0-0 draw against Cheonan in the third round, and have now conceded in 11 consecutive matches, including this one.
“Of course, I’m worried about the clean sheet,” said Choi Chul-woo, who is concerned about the defense. But right now, we’re looking at the direction Seongnam needs to go. I am also upset that we are not getting results. However, we are trying to play a proactive, dynamic soccer that the fans can see. I think the players are following it well and following through, so I’m sure it will get better.”
Coach Choi Chul-woo is also worried about the mood of the team, which has lost four straight games. “The players seem to have lost a lot of confidence due to the losing streak. I think it’s important to restore their confidence,” Choi said. ”I believe there will be 사설토토 enough points to rebound. We will utilize (the June A-Match period) to create time to be together with the players.”
Seongnam will travel to Ansan Greeners on June 1 before hosting K League 2 leaders FC Anyang on June 15. The league’s bottom-ranked Ansan will be followed by the league’s top-ranked Anyang.
Coach Choi Chul-woo, who said he wants to show the home fans a dynamic soccer team, said, “We will definitely continue to challenge ourselves. I want to block what the opponent can do well,” Choi said, adding, ”I became a coach because you gave me a valuable opportunity. I will do my best not to regret being chosen,” he said.
