South Korea’s national taekwondo team member Kim Yu-jin is competing against Turkey’s Hatidze Qibra Ilgwin in the round of 16 of the women’s 57kg class taekwondo event at the 2024 Paris Olympics held at the Grand Palais in Paris, France on the afternoon of the 8th (Korean time).
Kim Yu-jin (24, Ulsan Metropolitan City Sports Association), who participated in the women’s 57kg class of taekwondo at the 2024 Paris Olympics, succeeded in advancing to the semifinals.
In the quarterfinals of the competition held at the Grand Palais in Paris, France on the 8th (local time), Kim Yu-jin defeated Skylar Park, a Korean-Canadian athlete, with a round score of 2-0 (7-6 9-5). According to the

Korea previously secured Olympic tickets in the men’s 58kg and 80kg classes, and the women’s over-67kg class through the WT rankings. The Korea Taekwondo Association began securing an Olympic ticket in the women’s 57kg class in January of this year, and selected Kim Yu-jin as a player for the Asian Continental Qualifiers through its own qualifiers in February. Kim Yu-jin won the ticket to Paris, which is given to the top two players in each weight class, by winning the semifinals of the Asian Continental Qualifiers held in Taiyuan, China in March.
